Work has been really picking up lately, hence the lack of posts. Shooting on Sony FS100 tomorrow for MTV2.

Work was pretty intense yesterday. We had to light City Hall in Newark for an interview and had lights going up 3 stories, and huge power runs as most of the buidling is marble and has no outlets.
The Jib operator was a pretty cool guy, and some of the stuff he was doing with the architecture of the building was incredible.

Censorship at the Philadelphia Film Office

The Philadelphia Film Office recently refused to post a crew call for a local short film due to it’s inclusion of nudity and simulated sex.

Dave Deneen (VFX) aka MR. DEADGUY, is a former professor of mine, and and all around awesome and creative dude (he’s actually the little known creator of Buddy Christ).

Censorship has no place in the arts.

  • As I was writing this I just read that the Film Office has apologized to the filmmakers and will post the ad on their site. One point for the good guys!
  • You can find the film’s KICKSTARTER site by clicking this link!

Here is the SPANK ROCK music video for “Car Song (featuring Santigold)” that I worked on as Best Boy Electric about a month ago in Brooklyn.

Stills from Oprah’s Next Chapter: America’s Hidden Culture (S01E08)

  • I gaffed the second interview of this episode back in December in Brooklyn.
  • You can see the china balls I used in the first still above.
  • This may have been the single most stressful day I’ve ever had working in Film & Television. It ended up looking pretty good though.
  • These are all pretty awful quality shots I took off the television with my iPhone.
Just finished watching Margin Call (2011, dir. J.C. Chandor)
What an all star cast. Kevin Spacey, Paul Bettany, Stanley Tucci, Jeremy Irons.
Zachary Quinto (who I first saw in American Horror Story) is going to be huge one day soon.
The acting was so good I feel like it almost transcends acting. It feels like you are legitimately watching a company deal with a huge fiscal crisis. Demi Moore is, however, the exception to this.
The cinematography is GORGEOUS. Shot on RED ONE MX in 4k by Frank DeMarco it looks soooo crisp. OFFHOLLYWOOD provided the camera gear and also did the color correction. Major kudos.
Although the financial terminology and overall premise of the film is far beyond my realm of comprehension, the movie is still tense and awesome and a must see.
